What are Bigpond Webmail IMAP and POP Server Settings?

If you plan on accessing your BigPond Webmail account via an email client, it is important to know your IMAP and POP server settings. Generally, IMAP and POP are both types of protocols used to receive email. Hence, your preference regarding how you interact with your emails will determine which option you select.

If, for example, you want to retrieve mail messages from various devices and sync them together, you should use IMAP, which stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. For BigPond IMAP settings, refer to the following:

Incoming Mail Server: imap.telstra.com
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL

The POP settings for BigPond will allow you to access an account within BigPond, and this procedure essentially permits you to delete any emails after transferring them to a particular device. In this case, the BigPond POP settings are:

Incoming Mail Server: pop.telstra.com
Port: 995
Encryption: SSL

For the outgoing mail servers (SMTP) serving both IMAP and POP, configurations are as follows:

SMTP Server: smtp.telstra.com
Port: 465 or 587
Encryption: SSL

As your username, make sure to provide your complete BigPond email address and the password. These configurations will protect your BigPond email, making it accessible in a secure manner.
