Steps to set up Bigpond webmail in Thunderbird
A Bigpond email has many more features for the user, and if a user is trying to use or prefers to access Thunderbird as their email client then it can be simply done through the user's Bigpond email account. The first thing that the
user should do is launch Thunderbird.

Click on "Create a
new account" on the main screen or go to "File" and click on
"New" then "Existing Mail Account."

Provide your name,
email address, and password in the given empty field.

Then the user will have
to click on "Continue" which will start configuring the server
settings.

Choose the "Manual
Config" option and the user will have to fill in the empty space with the
given details below.

In Incoming server:
mail.bigpond.com

In Outgoing server:
mail.bigpond.com
·
For Incoming ports: 993
(IMAP) or 995 (POP)
·
For Outgoing port: 587,
SSL: SSL/TLS
·
Authentication: Normal
password
·
Username: Your BigPond
email address

The user will then have
to click on "Re-test" to verify the settings and then click on
"Done" to complete the setup process.
Once the setup is complete,
Thunderbird will start downloading your email messages from your BigPond
account. You can access your email by clicking on your account name in the
